Synopsis

In ''Final Destination 5,'' Death is just as omnipresent as ever,and its unleashed after one man's premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death's sinister agenda.

Story of film

Sam and a group of his coworker are attending a corporate outing on weekend. In the way to the destination, all colleagues are enjoying their trip. While stopped in the traffic on a bridge, something is happen in horribly. The bridge that is under construction is starting to crumble and collapse. People are struggle and some of the most are death.

But wait it is just a dream? Sam wakes up and realizes the things that he imagines are start really to happen. He yells everyone gets off from the bus and run. After people are getting off from the bus, the bridge is starting to collapse and most of the residence is involved in the disaster. Sam‘s has a sixth sense and he was able to save 8 of his friend including himself. And so, local news call them as a ‘lucky 8’ mean they are the only eight people is survivor from the disaster.

However, that is just a lucky escape to Sam and his friend. One by one of ‘lucky 8’ is start dying in terrible accident. In every accident, a man is appear in every death scene and made an uncomfortable feeling to surrounding. When questioned, the man tells the survivors are supposed to die on the bridge and death coming to balance the equation. However, they can be surviving if they replace by death or another, they are taking over that person’s lifespan. A few of them is thinking to kill someone in order to survive.

‘No matter where you run, no matter where you hide you can’t cheat death, Or can you?’

Death is everywhere around us. Final destination is an American classic horror film since 2000. The film’s ides is unique and different from other horror film. What does it mean? In Final Destination, there is not simply appear death and does not have that violence scene, but just through the tension of music, emerging shadow and, etc. The fear and frustration of life is bringing into the design of death in this film, so the audience is easily lead into sense.

As a fans of final destination, of course I will be watched all the series of FD. However, I have to admit it, final destination is outdated after FD2. If you have seen any of final destination, you already know what is the movie about and what would it happen ongoing the movie. The plot is too narrow. In FD5, the formula isn’t changed but there are a few tweaks. The main one is that survivors can kill someone to take their lifespan and maybe can escape death. The new tweak is the taking the new life can be defeat Death. Not only they have to worry about death, and they worry about what they are willing to do to survive among people.

The film was directed by Steven Quale which he marks as his first work. He was worked visual effect with James Cameron on terminator 2, titanic and avatar. He was expertise with that and this made final destination 5 is so crazy to watch. For the death scene, there is so disturbing and shocking at the all time. Steven Quale plays with the audience expectation. He design many things that can kills a character in certain scene and when you think this is a sharp object will kills them ,but this a totally different way. He kept the audience guessing. The buildup made the movie fun to watch and excited.

As an overall, Final destination 5 is fun to watch. This has been much tension and creative since the previous installment, and the particular scene is filled with uncomfortable and a level of anxiety. However, the storyline are same with previous installment and plot too narrow. Although it seem so cruel and But who cares? We are there just for the death scene. If possible, please see in 3D.you will not regret it. =)
